Earlier this month, Governor Dayton signed a bonding bill for various infrastructure related projected throughout the State. Through local Senator Dave Osmek and Representative Jerry Hertaus, the City requested $400,000 to make safety improvements at the railroad crossings associated with the City’s Lake Effect Project. Thanks to efforts by Sen. Osmek, Rep. Hertaus, City Officials, and the Lake Effect Conservancy, the City’s request WAS included in the signed bonding bill.

What does that mean? It means that portion of the project cost is now funded and construction, along with the rest of Lake Street and the Lake Street Plaza area, can commence as soon as the design process is complete.
