The Wayzata Lake Effect Project is moving forward! In March, the Wayzata City Council approved a contract with Civitas – an award winning landscape architecture and design firm, to move forward with the design of the Lake Effect Project, with construction slated to begin in 2019. The Lake Effect Project, is a strategic initiative by the City of Wayzata to preserve and enhance the accessibility of the Lake Minnetonka shoreline in Wayzata.

Join us for a preview of the Wayzata Lake Effect Project’s summer programming – the family friendly, Spring Splash:

· Saturday, May 19th
· 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the pop-up Plaza (the municipal parking lot at Lake & Broadway)
· There will be fun interactive booths and displays, along with McCormick’s Beachside and Ben & Jerry’s ice cream. It’s sure to be a great event!

This kick-off event will highlight the Lake Minnetonka Science Collaborative’s pilot summer programming that will take place at the future Eco Park and lakefront. The Lake Exploration Camp, will be offered through the Ridgedale YMCA and area partners including: Wayzata Community Sailing, Wayzata Public Schools, Science Museum of Minnesota, DNR, Interfaith Outreach, Minnehaha Creek Watershed District, Lake Minnetonka Association, University of Minnesota, and more.
